My commitment is to wholeheartedly align with your wishes throughout the labor experience, fostering a sense of empowerment, confidence, and nurturance as you embark on your childbirth journey.

A Companion in Your Birth Journey

Irrespective of the type of birth you envision—be it a home birth, non-medicated hospital birth, medicated hospital birth, VBAC, or c-section—I am dedicated to being by your side throughout the entirety of your birth experience. While your care provider attends to your medical needs, my focus remains on you and even your spouse, delivering emotional, physical, spiritual, and educational support tailored to bring your baby into the world according to your vision.

As your Birth Doulas, I provide...

Educational guidance encompasses answering questions, providing continuous support, promoting informed decision-making, offering prenatal education, preparing for labor, facilitating communication with healthcare providers, and planning for the postpartum period. I strive to empower expecting parents with knowledge and confidence throughout the transformative journey of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.

Labor Pain Management

Drawing on professional training, I am proficient in various pain-relieving comfort measures. From breathing techniques to relaxation methods, massage, acupressure, and varied laboring positions, my goal is to ensure your comfort throughout the birthing process.

Devoted Labor Assistance

During your labor and delivery, I will remain consistently close and attentive, offering unwavering support. While your healthcare team attends to multiple responsibilities, I am solely dedicated to your well-being, ensuring you receive personalized and focused assistance throughout the labor process.

Prenatal Education:

As part of my educational guidance, I offer resources and information on various aspects of prenatal care. This includes topics like nutrition, exercise, and relaxation techniques, promoting a holistic approach to your well-being during pregnancy.

Labor Preparation:

Leading up to labor, I equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for a positive birthing experience. This may involve discussions on breathing techniques, labor positions, and pain management strategies to help you feel confident and prepared.

Communication Facilitation:

During prenatal visits, I facilitate open and honest communication between you and your healthcare provider. This ensures that your concerns are heard, questions are addressed, and you feel actively involved in the decision-making process.

Postpartum Planning:

Educational guidance extends into the postpartum period, covering topics such as newborn care, breastfeeding support, and emotional well-being. I strive to empower you with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the early days of parenthood.

Calm, Objective, Informative Advice

As situations arise, I stand beside you, offering objective, fact-based information to guide your decisions. Facilitating conversations with your care provider, I ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and confident in the choices you make for your birth and family.

     YOUR DOULA DOES

  • Support Your Birth Plan: I respect and support your choices, helping you give birth in the way that feels best for you.

  • Provide Emotional Support: I’m here for you and your partner, offering encouragement, reassurance, and calm during this transformative experience.

  • Treat You with Respect and Professionalism: At all times, I approach your care with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.

  • Share Evidence-Based Resources: Upon request, I provide reliable, evidence-based information to empower your decisions.

  • Be Available for Support: Whether you need emotional or educational guidance, I’m here for you and your partner throughout your pregnancy.

  • Be by Your Side in Labor: From the moment you request my presence during labor, I’m fully committed to staying with you until your baby is born and you’re comfortably recovering.

     â€‹YOUR DOULA DOES NOT

  • Perform Clinical Tasks: I don’t conduct medical procedures, such as cervical checks or monitoring fetal heart tones. My focus is on physical, emotional, and educational support.

  • Speak to Medical Staff on Your Behalf: While I’ll work collaboratively with your medical team, I cannot speak for you. Instead, I empower you to communicate your needs and preferences effectively.

  • Impose Biases or Expectations: Your birth is your own. I provide judgment-free support and respect your choices every step of the way.

    WHY THIS MATTERS

  • The role of a doula is to ensure you feel supported, informed, and cared for during one of life’s most significant experiences. By clearly outlining what I do and don’t do, you can feel confident in the professional, non-judgmental care you’ll receive.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Marquisha F.

Courtney provides the best prenatal massage Middle Georgia has to offer. I have had MANY massages and she is extremely qualified, equipped, and blessed. I feel so fortunate to have found her in my final trimester. Each time I leave her massage table, I feel a renewed sense of energy, flexibility and ease. Her energy is warm and welcoming. She is an expert therapist & a gift to those of us fortunate enough to receive her services. I'll never consider another therapist for as long as I'm in the Middle, GA area. Yes! She IS that good!!!!!!

Vikki E.

My massage was amazing! Courtney made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The pregnancy pillow was so comfortable and allowed me to lay face down which I've greatly missed recently. Can't wait to go back!

Jolene D.

Courtney is amazing! I’ve been seeing her throughout my second pregnancy. She always makes me feel comfortable and has helped so much with mobility/pain relief. The specialty pregnancy pillows are heavenly! I’ll definitely be seeing Courtney for postpartum nursing aches once baby arrives.
